Whitewash Walls Behind Picket Fences

Behind picket fences and whitewashed walls

A Son comes out to his Family and behind it all

Mother cries and Daddy screams

I always knew you were a weird little freak

A Mamby Pamby, Mama's Boy

Get on your knees and pray for salvation

No Son of mine will bring shame upon this Family

Another picket fence with whitewashed walls.

A Fathers abuse and a Mothers shame

A Daughter carries the Child of this abuse

Mama screams, slut you filthy whore

Daddy glares and cries she lies nonchalantly

The drink reflected in the pallor of his skin and the red of his eyes

The mother snatches her off the now bloody floor

pushes her to her knees and screams beg for salvation

Whitewashed walls and chain linked fences

A Child comes home to an empty house

Mother works, but there's never enough

The house is dark, the kitchen cold

A Child of only six Years old

She lights a Match to burn a candle

As she waits in darkness alone, hungry and afraid

One house goes up in flame

A Child alone scared what Mama will say

Her new curtains up, up in flames

As her lifeless form deeply unconscious

she fears the spanking that's sure to follow

Sunken eyes and healed scars, over freshly healed scars

Behind one picket fence with whitewashed walls

All secret will be revealed

Picket fences, high privacy fences whitewashed walls

A beautiful Garden grows, with manicured lawn

Red, red, roses full of thorns, gladiolas, Mums and Purple passion

A Husbands fury a Woman's shame

Black eyes, busted lips, and broken ribs

As she receives the blows, she thinks no way to cover those

What will she tell her boss

No more sick Day's, no wages earned, will surely be her demise

She cries out loud for her salvation

On a different side of Town

Another house erected, with pretty picket fences

And beautiful new whitewashed walls

Whitewashed walls holds terrible secrets

Behind those pretty white picket fences

Oh, so tragically sad. But truth lies behind so many of those picket fences!

Your words express this tragedy so well.
