Why Did You Leave Me I Cried For You

Updated on May 16, 2017

I cried for you, People said time heals all wounds

I gave it time and cried some more each Night and sometimes during the Day

There were times when the pain was so great

I thought I would surely expire from it

People said the pain will get easier

As Months went by I saw your face in every stranger

Your walk, your laughter

The shape of your head a strangers glance

The honk of a horn still now brings a tear's unshed

And sometimes when I'm alone at Nights

My thoughts turn to you and I still cry

People said it's just a matter of time

It's been a Year now and the smell of your cologne

Still lingers

I smell the heady fragrance and am transported back in time

When my every thought of you brought tears and pain

My heart could not endure

I still think of you from time to time

And I hear a voice and quickly turn

But it's not you

People said one Day it will all seem like a very bad dream

The Years have been kind to you

I saw you just the other Day

I smiled and held my head up and didn't flinch or pretend not to see you

I saw the instant your eyes recognized me and then that moment you looked away

Embarrassed

you should be the Woman you left me for

I assumed

I laughed and shook my head

People said one Day he will regret it

Hold your head up never let them see you sweat

People say a lot of things and mainly what People said

is true
