Widows Lament- A poem by my wife, I'm amazed
Title: Widow's Lament
I remember everything;
So nostalgic I can barely speak
Smelling your flesh sweat and tears
Mixed with your pain; sweat and beer
My eyes are burning and blood red
And every words spilling with regret
May I distract you and kiss your neck and If you let go you might forget...
Both of us tangling in a beautiful mess; A web of lies beating through our chests
I cant take back yesterday; but can change tomorrow if you stay
Your words carving like little knives
But I'm far from ready to walk away...
The daylights creeping in behind your black window blinds
Anxiety's seeping in and I'm long out of wine,
Take a breath and watch it pass sliding your fingers through mine
Forget this past and dry your eyes
This is all a dream.....
