Winter Day by Day

Updated on January 21, 2010

The sky

Gray

Like a battleship

Weighs down

Upon my head

Dark

And threatening

The gloom

Difficult

To fend off

Then

The next day dawns

The sun rises

In the clear blue winter sky

The world

Is bedecked with jewels

Sparkling

At my feet

The air crisp and clean

Every sight a joy

The world

Once again

Filled with

Possibility

A very effective poem--I liked the Thoreauvian image of jewels at my feet.

Thank you very much. I am excited for the beginning of winter, but it does wear on after a while. Some of those sunny winter days are just gorgeous, though.

This is beautiful, as are the photos.

I am thoroughly fed up with winter, as I sit here after our third storm in three weeks.

I attempted to go to work this morning but after the most treacherous ride of my life I turned back and came home. I will be writing a hub about the experience.

I enjoy your view on winter so much more :)
