Winter tale

Updated on December 13, 2013
Source

Cold, exposed, bare

Animals are hiding in their lare

It's a tough world without a care

Dead and dying december day

Twigs on the floor where flower beds once lay

The snow falls thick, the weather has the say

Winds blow fast and chill the ground

Everything is still there is no sound

The frozen ice waits around

I think your photo really makes your words meaningful. I am still chilled from reading the poem. You do use your creativity well!

I have to agree with Billy...I'm freezing! Nicely written, Nina. :-)

Hi annart. Thanks so much for stopping by. Yes I agree about being busy at Christmas time, I'm yet to do my Christmas shopping. Have a great Christmas.

Makes me feel chilly but at the same time it gives me a cosy feeling when snow is thick, protecting the plants and we're all wrapped up warm and busy before Christmas!

I just love the look on children's faces when they see it for the first time. Wonderful!

Thankyou Jodah. Wow, I can't believe you have never experienced snow. I guess living in Queensland you don't get it. You should put experience snow on your bucket list. It is so much fun building a snowman and throwing snowballs.

You described a snowy cold Winter very well in few words Nina. For someone who has never experienced snow, I could almost feel it. Good work.

I'm cold just reading this. :) I love poetry that has a limited amount of words but says so much. Well done!
