Wishes of a Drudge

Updated on November 23, 2010

(more bad poetry)

Such longings I have!
wishes of a drudge,
messenger boy,
tool of the living.

Oh that I could live!
I call out to beauty,
“Come into my life.
Soothe this glass-paved road.”

Caress my lonely skin.
Chase away this chill.
Fill this empty place.

Walk with me
and speak kindly
as I carry
this load.

Stir my mind.
Ignite my imagination.
Kindle my desire.
Inspire hope.

You don’t have to
carry anything.

I love this poem. I was especially inspired by the line, "ignite my imagination, Kindle my desire, inspire hope. Nice work here:)

The surreal neatly embodied through poetry. Love the brevity -- it's lends so much more weight to your words.

I am sorry if the poetry was not bad, Scriber.

My reality is surreal. Thanks, Doug! :)
