Would I: A Poem

"She Did Not Know How To Forgive" ~ Altered magazine ad by me.

If you fell down

would I help you up?

If you were dying of thirst

would I offer you a cup?

If you stubbed your toe

would I stifle a snicker?

If you had a cold

would I wish you were sicker?

If a dog bit your hand

would I take you to the Doc?

If you serenaded me

would I hit you with a rock?

If you broke your leg

would I be your crutch?

If you try to hug me now

would I recoil at your touch?

If you hurt me again

would I order you to go?

If you thought the love had died

would you really want to know?

If you left town today

would I continue to live?

If you begged me now

would I know how to forgive?

Voted up and beautiful. So simple yet so meaningful. Loved the last lines because I've been there and it's had to know how to really feel.

      If you left town today

      would I continue to live?

      If you begged me now

would I know how to forgive?

There are many women who will understand the pain of your words and the bravery it takes to write them. You are a beautiful writer.

Gypsy, working on that forgiveness at this very moment. I'm able to stay awake for more than 6 hours at a time, so I believe I'm coming out of this funk! Thank you for the comment and understanding!

ImKarn23, sometimes it's so hard to get past those thorns to see the beauty on the other side, but I'm glad I didn't give up and take a less thorny path.

Thanks so much for your support!

Would I? Boy, what a question followed by your wonderful poem that leads to more questions. You really make the reader stop and think "Would I" depending on those circumstances? Loved this and the photo fits right in.

      Voted up, interesting, awesome!
