Writers Block-How do you get over writers block?

Updated on September 28, 2010

It's the perfect setting. The house is quiet. The man is in the living room playing with his new cd's, the roommate and her son are sleeping and the dogs are chewing oh so quietly on their bones. So I do what I've been wanting to do for a while now. I sit in front of this screen and I attempt to write you all an informative and interesting hub. But yet, the words escape me. I'm left motionless and unable to think of a thing to write.

Now I've got plenty of ideas, but nothing comes out. I've read the news, watched the news, watched reality television, gotten ideas from friends, had personal things happen. I have tons to say, but don't know how to say it. I've only really had this happen to me once before and it lasted for over a year. I don't want that to happen to me again. But yet I don't know how to undo it either.

So my question to you is this : How do you go about undoing your writers block? What methods, if any, do you use?

I've managed to pump out 2 articles in the past few weeks. I went from writing a few a day to two in a few weeks. This is sad and I apologize to my readers and followers. I'm working on a come back of greatness. It's just going to take me a bit to get there!

Much Love!

I've suffered this numerous times. I've found if I force myself to write when I'm blocked I just make things worse. So, I'll generally do some work for textbroker while I'm "thinking" and then usually in a few days I feel inspired and write three or four hubs. But I don't publish them right away. I save a couple of them for when I have writer's block again, and then I edit them while I'm waiting for inspiration to strike! It works for me, but I've found the blockages are becoming more frequent. The more I write, the more blocked I become...

Writers block can be crippling, but the more we think we have writers the block the harder it is to shake..

if your interested i wrote a hub on it a little while ago,

it may help...or at least i hope it does, but the best quick advice i could give you is to write out your block. just write until you unlock that spark of creativity

      Good luck
