YES IT IS A WILD TIME HERE!
Yes~
It is a wild time here~
With nature everywhere! ~
It is a wild time here~
When I can observe without a care!
The wild time here~
Starts with the wild turkey~
Preening himself on the log. ~
He thinks he is the King of the mountain~
Making sure his feathers are perfect without flaws.
Than there is the stray orange kitty~
I call “Ringer” hunting in the high hay field~
As he cautiously saunters~
He also freezes his stance to yield~
So he does not ever heed to falter or hesitate to wield.
The birds aloft on the porch~
After raising one set of offspring~
Are now busily rebuilding the same nest~
In hopes I suppose to have another family~
Again this year~
Before they take a summers rest~
Although raising another family does to us seem queer.
There are chipmunks as usual~
Scurrying around~
Taking sanctuary in their dirt surrounded holes~
As well they hide in the nooks and crannies of the stone wall~
They hopefully watch for cats~
As being caught by one would be their doom and down fall.
I mustn’t forget the fluffy tail~
I saw fleeting away~
The backend of a deer~
Running out of fear or wondrous play. ~
I think he might had been feeding on~
My mother’s plants~
Of those my mom would wish it to stay clear~
Prior hoping the doe could not jump our white picket fence~
As she holds her flowers very dear.
The bunny bee bopps around~
Nibbling on the luscious grass~
Often he startles me~
As I walk past.
There are two morning doves~
Who playfully wash in the front yard birdbath~
They take turns~
Cooing constantly~
A pleasant sound as I stand on the gravel path.
There are black ants that march haphazardly~
On the paved driveway~
Often looking confused~
In which way to go~
I am sure as I walk onward~
They frantically search for near by refuge~
As my feet are most certainly their scary huge foe.
Just before nightfall~
Hundreds of bats fly out of~
The top of the house~
Zooming out slits in a vent~
They fly above and swoop at bugs~
I see them clear as the fluorescent sky~
Looms vibrantly above.
Yes~
It is a wild time here~
With nature everywhere! ~
It is a wild time here~
When I can observe without a care!
