You Be You, I'll Be Me: A Short Lyrical Poem
I love a cup of coffee when I wake up in the morning,
after lying here in bed, sittin' up and yawning.
I sink my soul into my shoes and grind 'em to the flooring.
I put on my white tee, stain free from the chlorine.
I kick against the current, to stay current with the trends.
I love to be myself in a world that pretends.
I paint a persona of the person that you see,
but when I paint, I do my best to make it look like me.
Every one has ugly, a little bit they hide
but when I'm truly free, I let others see that side.
Everyone has fresh, a little bit of fly..
So you do you & I'll do me,
then no one needs to try.
