You Don't Know Me , But

Updated on May 26, 2012

watching but not judging

You don't know me but I'm your neighbor

I sit quietly as life presents itself

You are so stressed as you walk with your children

they are scolded harshly for so little

you walk your dog and yank his collar

you look stone cold as you start your car

as you see me in your vision, you smile

a hello is said as you bid me goodbye

too tired and stressed to see

exactly how you appear to me

that in itself is completely alright

for do as you please is your right

I once was that single mom

2 kids and their friends

to have much fun

worry of safety and bills and such

took its toll and left me depleated

I understand now, as my illness has progressed

everyone needs fun and then rest

I am not here to judge

just seeing a need for change

life is too short

we need to enjoy,Gods precious gifts

for we need change and not blame

what a hearty poem-so simple , yet so touching!A poem like this can come only out of a saddened experience-either of self or,of others taken as one's own.this is one more example to prove that poems without figures of speech can also be effective! Congrats, for the ability to turn sadness into poetry!

Words straight from your Heart Momma Mia. We can all relate and sadly, ignore Life, and fun...we see it all around us today. You've captured it all so well with your words. Thanks for sharing.

Life is unpredictable. You captured and wrote a beautiful tribute to the struggles we all must endure. Stress takes a terrible toll, seen on the face and felt physically, negatively impacting health. Though we all meet up with stress, so many are quick to judge another. You said it beautifully in not seeking to blame, but rather, understand. Bravo!

      Morning Mia.

A lot of meaningful words in this hub Mia.

Read it a couple of times and I really feel what you are saying. All work and no play. The words "work and play" can be taken many ways as we need the work to be able to play and play to relieve the stress from all the work.

Your hub lets a person sit and and think of their own situation.

Take care Mia and have a nice Sunday.

      LOL Ghaelach

Very good poem. Many of us need to learn how not to stress so much. I include myself in that number. I am learning as I write more and read writers like you. Thank you.
