Silence can be felt from miles away
Silence can be felt from miles away

Your silence told me everything,

Your silence spoke to me a ton of words.

The Silence in your eyes told me,

you have no feelings for me anymore.

The same eyes which used to wait for me,

Have no emotions for me anymore.

The Silence on your lips told me,

you have no more words for me no anymore.

The same lips that used to speak sweet words to me,

Dont have sweetness for me anymore.

Lovely. The closer picture--only her back and the bending grass on barren sand--what an exquisite silent companion to the words.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come:

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Shall I compare thee to a winter's night?

Thou art colder and as chilling to me:

How thy gaze doth freeze solidly my might,

So weakly now I rest on bended knee.

Whither thou goest my wounded heart deigns

To stumble in futile chase, although we,

Knowing the lie inherent in love's reign

Understand the ending note has sounded.

Yet love makes foolish the wisest of us

Who, haunted by dying love and hounded

By mem'ry of fading embers of lust

Drowning in our own remorse unbounded,

Remember as if we lost paradise

The love about which we should have thought twice.
