Your heart's desire - poem
His Grace is Amazing
Your heart’s desire
From far away you saw me
And found me lying in the dungeon
Of sin and unclean clay;
By your loving arm, you lifted me up.
Whiter than snow thou washed me
With splendorous apparel thou clothed me;
You made me stand by your side
With your warm love, you held me close.
‘Am I worthy for this?’ thus I wondered
Found I nothing good in me, to receive your grace;
To own me as your treasure forever
The price you paid is your life.
Sought thou for this little vapour
Like a hunter for his prey;
In this short journey of wandering
I keep wondering over thine deeds.
‘What made you come after me?’
Was my question for many years;
Till I found the startling answer—
This grace-chosen one is thine heart’s desire.
Assurance of God's election of Grace
Do you believe in the unconditional election of God?
