Zen Bicycle
On the long ride all else may fade away
Except the slender machine you straddle
Gliding quiet and smooth along the way
Neither pain of knee or chafe of saddle
Upon the gyroscopically stable
Pacific state of the rider intrude
As the steady pace the soul enables
To achieve a singular solitude
Wherein a person easily decides
The wisdom or folly of their beliefs
As all other thought ceases and they ride
Onward, relentlessly without relief
Body an intimate tool of motion
Automatic mode of transportation
A mind as restless as the ocean
Calmed to a most quiet contemplation
Illuminating everything held dear
In light revealed by openness of mind
Much that was obscured suddenly made clear
Truth is available for you to find
This is one reason that I like
Very much to ride my bike
