a Quick Fix

Updated on January 24, 2016

A New Approach

When I have a tough day

I come home beat and exhausted

When things don't go my way

I am a little under the weather

I know I tried hard to make it work

Realizing I did all I could

I need a lift

I hop in and get a nice hot shower

I throw a pair of pajamas on

I could turn for a nice stiff drink

That could lead to another

I could eat and bury my sorrows deep

In a big bowl of ice cream or popcorn

That wouldn't solve the problem

I got it

I pull out three pairs of my work pants and shirts

Go downstairs and throw them in the dryer

After twenty minutes I pull them out

I sit in my favorite chair

Wrap myself in the clothes

They are thick and hold the heat

The heat of the clothes are soothing

Read some wonderful hubs

I feel so comfortable

Sometimes I turn on the music

Take a nap

Other times I write

My body is being pleased

From the outside in

My thoughts of my day vanish

All that remains is a smile

Michael-Milec When I have a problem that needs my attention. I try to come up with solutions that will shed light. Anything to let me focus and see all sides I will give it a try. Sometimes I sit in a dark room other times I like to take a walk in nature. We all have our own certain secret remedies that work and other ways that we have tried that don't work. I say back to the drawing board and try,try again. Thank you for reading. My weekend got off to a good start.

Gypsy Rose Lee There are days that go terribly wrong. No matter what I dream and think life turns out different. Then when I have a good day I feel amazing and everything that happened yesterday is gone. Today was beautiful all day long. Thank you for reading and sharing more about you. Words are a great way to connect. The more things go well the more momentum is gained to carry us on.

Love the positivism in your poem. I always do what I can to lock the world outside of my inner world and start feeling better by listening to some favorite song.

Neillieanna You are amazing!!!! I am so happy to see you. Life has never been more beautiful. I remember your advice from years ago and to this day I practice to be more centered and focused. Sometimes I hit the nail right on the head. Most of the time I whack my finger. Ouch that smarts. (lol) Wishing you a big hug that stretches for miles. Many laughs and fun times ahead in 2016. Wonderful great health and a stack of fantastic hubs that look like pancakes covered with strawberries and whipped cream so bold and beautiful. I can't wait to devour. Hope today will never fade and lose it's shine. That it will only age and taste better like a good wine.

Word55 You have to try it and let me know what you think. You could use thick towels or a blanket. The heat relaxing and it penetrates deep through my skin. Susie Jane Something so soothing and comforting. Missy Smith Very habit forming for all the right reasons. Thank you for sharing.

It does sound like a new and interesting way to unwind. Everything gets repetitive doesn't it? Even eating ice cream in your pajamas. I think it's good to find new ways to do things. This was interesting! Quite fun really! :)
