Amelia Bedelia Books
Happy 50th Birthday Amelia 1963-2013
Amelia Bedelia
is having another birthday. It's hard to believe that over 50 years ago Peggy Parish first introduced us to this not so ordinary, quirky, literal minded housekeeper.Don't think she is ready to retire though. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Amelia Bedelia collection, brand new Amelia Bedelia books were released on January 29, 2013. Plus they have more to come in the upcoming years.
Celebrate with Amelia Bedelia as she bakes up a few more pies, dusts the furniture, draws the drapes and some new things we've yet to discover about our beloved maid.

Happy 50th Anniversary Amelia Bedelia Edition
Amelia Bedelia Fiftieth Anniversary Edition [Hardcover] - Released Date: January 29, 2013
Who doesn't love Amelia Bedelia? With brand new employers, Amelia is a maid that wants to please her bosses. She follows their instructions to the letter, literally.
Amelia has landed a new job as a maid for the Rogers. On her first day she is left alone with a list of instructions as to her duties. Wanting to please her new employers, Amelia takes each task literally. A simple chore of dressing the turkey for dinner, drawing the drapes and a number of other items listed turns into a humorous day at the Rogers. Through it all, the Rogers manage to hang on to their "uncharacteristic like" maid and fall in love with her wonderful desserts.
Every child will be amused by the antics of Amelia as she goes about her daily chores.

Author Margaret Cecile "Peggy" Parish was originally from Manning, South Carolina. She was born on July 14th, 1927. From the time of her childhood, Peggy loved books and would read as much as she could. After high school she would attend the University of South Carolina where she received a BA in English, and went on to Vanderbilt University which was then called Peabody College for Teachers.
From college Ms. Parish moved several times teaching in other states such as Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky and finally In New York City. Beyond her teaching craft, Peggy also was gifted in the field of creative dance, advertising, book reviewer and worked on the television program Carolina Today.
Her last residence was in New York City, where she found employment working with the Girl Scouts. She went on to teach third grade in the Manhattan Dalton Middle School.
