1. Focus on the turn of events. follow the pattern of exposition-- rising action-- climax--- falling action--- resolution.
2. Make one event connected to the previous one by logical necessity.
3. Try experimenting with sequentiality. In simple words, try turning the clock upside down. Make use of flash forward and flash back to manipulate the time frames.
4. Create a well placed climax. make it look inevitable. At the same time show how character(s) are offered a choice but they act in one pattern. make them do mistakes, face disruption of order, reverse their expectations and then make them realize (epiphany).
