Isaac Asimov's On Creativity
My Connection
Once upon a time, probably in the late seventies, my wife and I sat at a banquet table with Isaac Asimov and Jean Auel (it was before Jean was famous). It was a Portland, Oregon Mensa meeting.
Isaac was the guest of honor but was relatively quiet and unassuming compared to some of the others at the table who tried to be impressively intelligent. It put us off Mensa.
Since then I have been a fan of his thought and his writing even though I have mainly read his science fiction only.

2014 Discovery
Arthur Obermayer, a friend of Isaac, who worked with him on a secret defense project in 1959, recently discovered an essay that Asimov wrote entitled "On Creativity". It had never been published before now. Find it here in the MIT Technology Review.
While addressed to a particular group with a specific mission I think it contains valuable information and great advice for anyone interested in creativity. It would be particularly useful in making business meetings more productive.
Quick, what do you think of Isaac Asimov?
