Poetry E-Motion

I take a look around me

I'm greatful for everything I see

from those dirty little hands

to the dishes in the sink

don't want to take it all for granted

the magic in the air

It's the only thing that keeps me going

Oh honey, I swear.

It's in the way you look at me

with eyes so full of love

It's in the way you hold me

I just can't get enough

It's in everything I see

and everything I do

Oh, I believe in magic

Yes, it's true.

It's not like in the fairytales

where wishes all come true

There's no magic castle

There's just me and you.

I can close my eyes and make believe

a hundred different fantasies

but it's just pretend, it's not for real

not something I can truly feel.

Just you and I, side by side

You know you make me feel alive.

You can live your life afraid to feel,

Numb the pain and never heal.

To feel the joy

we put up with pain

cause there's no rainbow

without the rain.

How can four little letters

cause so much grief?

the heart is the prize,

that can be stolen by a thief.

The thief has yet to learn,

what the prize contains.

but once the heart is stolen,

tell me what remains?

The unexplainable has happened,

the mystery has been solved.

but we're too busy running,

to stop and get involved.

Tell me what is LOVE,

and how does it feel?

When a heart is broken

can it ever heal?

Tears run down my face

as my heart starts to break

from all the words you say

want to wish them all away

how can you, be so cruel

I feel like, I'm just a fool

you wonder why I can't let go

it's because you just don't know

How it tears me up inside

and breaks apart my pride

it makes me want to scream

you think I'm living in a dream

but nothing is as it seems

there's always something underneath

just waiting to get out

so we just scream and shout

I can't let it in

I can't get it out

I just can't win

when I'm filled with doubt

when all I really want to say

is "help me cause I'm broken"

but each and everyday

our words are mixed up and misspoken

so here's my heart on a silver tray

keep it close or throw it away

so it's right or it's wrong

hold me close or say so long

I'm giving up the fight

cause I can't see the light

nothing feels quite right

in this endless night

so I hope and I pray

the sun will shine someday

dry up these tears

and wash away our fears.
