Classroom Do's and Dont's For Earning Gold Stars

It's hard to believe that children will soon be headed back to school. Lauren Glattly's hilarious picture book Proper Badger Would Never Trash the Classroom! is a fun choice for young children who will be going to school for the first time this new school year. Good behavior is necessary to earn those gold stars. This little badger will experience all of the behaviors that are not wanted in the classroom and young readers will find his antics to be hilarious.

Little Badger was on his way home from the apple orchard and he thinks that he got on the wrong bus when he got on a school bus. But he has always wanted to go to school and he is already dressed properly for the classroom. He has heard about the gold stars that children get for good behavior and they sound delicious. The children are surprised to see Little Badger in their classroom. Burrowing under all of the desks is not a good classroom behavior. Hoarding all of the snacks is not a good classroom behavior. Shredding the butterfly nets and letting all of the butterflies escape is not a good classroom behavior. Making noise during naptime is not a good classroom behavior. The children in the classroom believe that Little Badger certainly does not deserve a gold star because he DID do all of these things. Little Badger should not even be at school. A surprise ending with gold stars is a hilarious ending to the school day.

Rob Sayegh Jr. contributed his talents as an illustrator for Proper Badger Would Never Trash the Classroom!. The colorul illustrations add to the humor of this adventure with Little Badger in the classroom.

Proper Badger Would Never Trash the Classroom! is recommended for ages 4-8. It was published by Flamingo Books, a division of Penguin/Random House. It has an ISBN of 978-0-593-52819-8.

Bring Little Badger to Your Classroom or to Your Child's Bookshelf

Teachers who teach in early education classrooms and parents who have young children who will be attending school for the first time for the upcoming new school year will want to add this hilarious school adventure to their classroom library or to their child's bookshelf. Meet the Author and Illustrator

Lauren Glattly relived her preschool experience by writing Proper Badger Would Never Trash the Classroom!. She considered herself to be a proper student during her preschool year. Of course she excelled in reading and wearing overalls. Her humor in thinking about her own first year at school shines through Little Badger's first day at school.

Rob Sayegh Jr. is a former toy designer. He turned his career as a designer into an author-illustrator of children's books. He collects vintage toys as a hobby.
