The Darker Side of Dim

Updated on March 02, 2014

l didn't know my mind could fall ,

completely to the ground.

No one warned me that my brain

could fall without a sound.

My mind has fallen to the ground.

No one said that this would happen

without warning.

Even clouds above us darken

threaten.........then the storms´s in.

This storm came with no warning.

I didn't know the pain would be

a void inside my brain.

No one said...Ónce this happens,

you´ll never be the same´.

Someone´s emptied out my brain.

No one warned me of the risk

of enemies encroaching,

On my mind and get inside

I saw none of this approaching.

And now my mind is on the ground.

No one warned me that my brain

could subtly be extracted.

Intelligence removed

and ne´er be re.- enacted..

An empty brain upon the ground.

No one warned me about it all..........

No one spoke, or said I´d fall..

No one told me any of this.......

Because......

There´s no one there......

And...............

There´s no one here..............

Beautifully sad poem and deeply moving. Thanks for writing such a deep piece of work and adding the pictures to go with it. I hit all buttons except funny.

Wow, just wow. Your poetry/creative writing always stops me dead in my tracks for it's impounding truths. You have such a way with illuminating your words into a path of depth. We may not want to see, yet the reality is there, this is how we recognize we are still human. Yet at the same breathe, your poem creates a valley of darkness that we know we carry, we just would rather not see.

This really captures the sense of confusion and loss one feels when the mind takes on a life of its own. You always write such compelling things . . .

      Voted up and awesome!

Very clever and thought provoking.Fascinating I must say.I am looking for a mind ?Has anyone seen one ? A used mind slightly damaged from a fall with a few scratches and a couple of dents. An extra mind will help me get a jump on my day.As always I love the way you write and share everything both far and near.

OOOH Dream On. Thank you I love the humour you find in everything. I was thinking of putting a disclaimer at the end of the poem ¨¨¨No one was decapitated in the making of this poem!´´´

Thanks for a great comment, and my E book came out today !!!!

Hi Dim!!!!!!! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, been busy working and not much time for computer. This poem reminds me of my best friends stroke 1 month ago!! She has lost her short term memory and can hardly see, her spirit is excellent and she has not lost her sense of humor. When I read your poem I thought I hope Dim did not have a stroke, that's how profound it is to me. Glad that you are okay in the physical at least and praying that your spirit is lifted and sun shines bright for you soon. Blessings!!! xxxxxxx

So good to see you again singlmomat52,

Hope all is well with you.

The poem comes from a time of serious depression but not how I´m feeling now.

Sorry to hear about your friend., but a sense of humour can cure far more than people realise.

I hope she will improve gradually. Blessings to you too and your friend.

Hi anndavis25, Thank you for the empathy. Someone told me once that the difference between sympathy and empathy is HUGE Empathy is when you FEEL for the other person because yo´ve been through something similar yourself. Appreciate the comment. Thank you.
