Ender's Game Book Review

Updated on February 1, 2015

A great read

Ender's Game is a fantastic science fiction book that was written by Orson Scott Card. The book is actually the first in a series which follows the progression of Andrew Wiggins, ("Ender"), as he ages.

WARNING: Plot spoilers follow from here.

The book describes the process involving Andrew Wiggins' transformation from a gifted young child into a master war tactician. The book also explores the lives of several other characters who interact with Andrew. "Ender" is the cute name given to Andrew when he was very young. Orson Scott Card also writes the characters of this book into the others in the Ender series. Part of the attraction of the entire series is the life brought to the pages by Card. Characters like Ender, Val and the "Piggies" are but a few of the outstanding, and memorable, characters highlighted in the books.

This book came highly recommended to me, but I didn't finish it. I read a few other OSC books later, and then came back and liked it a lot better the second time around. Great lens on a great book.

Can't wait for the movie to come out.

@TeacherSerenia: This was a fan-made trailer, a mash-up of different movies. But it's incredibly well put together, I think.

I actually enjoyed the second book, "Speaker for the Dead" more than "Ender's Game". But the series lost me with "Children of the Mind".

Two summers ago a family friend introduced me to Ender. Ender is one of his top favorite books.

I read the enders game series when I was in high school - that's mre than 30 years ago. I knbow I liked them but I can no longer remember the plots.

The movie trailer looks great. BUT I see a glimpse of young James Tiberius Kirk in there. Is that for a reason? Perhaps the same boy plays Ender?

WHEN will the movie be released? Has it already been released? Have I missed it?
