Fathers Pride

Updated on September 18, 2012

Many years from this sad day

You'll hold your head up high

Walking proudly with your Father

Full of the reasons why

The reasons that you love him

For all the things he's done

That made you the special person

Who's smiles shines like the sun

He gave you the freedom

So you could find your light

Where you can love the whole world

But not be afraid to fight

For justice for the needing

When there's nowhere they can turn

As he gave you your empathy

Which forever in you burns

When he's old and tired

As your holding his arm

He'll smile deeply to himself

That he kept you safe from harm

Knowing that when he's here no more

He'll not be leaving you alone

As you'll be loved by all you meet

From the kindness that you've shown

i think this is every fathers wish. We want to protect our children and know that in the end every ounce of love we gave helped shaped a good person.

Shauna, you are right (as usual) , I am sure Savannah knows that too, and she does love her Mum. That's for sure !! Just these are hard times for all three of us, and two of us want one thing and her Mum wants something else :(

For all she has done.... I still love her Mum too, but am a realist and this cannot be repaired, so Savannah's welfare has to be my paramount purpose in life now.

This is such a beautiful expression of fatherhood and a wonderful message given by a person who has compassion beyond compare. Thank you for sharing this fine work for all to read and appreciate.

Beautiful message, Simba. Somewhere in her life, Savannah needs to also know that deep inside, her mom loves her. She's just having problems she doesn't yet know how to mend. Savannah's first 9 months were spent in mama's womb. That means something and should never be dismissed!
