Encouragement for writing comes from everywhere. Start by keeping a pen and paper close by. Interesting thoughts come and go constantly and good ideas or quotes will fade fast; so write it down; it can be a start to a short story or poem.

Does it - come from everywhere? I know what you mean - the world is wide-open to the interpretation of the writer. However, being "encouraged" to write, instead of to do housework, mow the lawn, cook dinner, wash laundry, run errands, even socialize - not so much.

I give this encouragement to fellow-writers, and I love receiving it. That's what "write every day" is all about. That friendly nudge toward the keyboard - "just a few words" that sometimes turns into an afternoon of creativity.
