The dust cover on "Scarlet Sister Mary" is gone, and part of the page that gives so and so dates...

is part missing. How can I tell if this is 1920's or 1940's? It is falling apart.got to handle with kids gloves. The mid is taped. You can send me your answer at XxWeeMusxX@aol.com. I am Luana. I am checking the worth of books I have. When I sell my enormous amount,l  do not want to sell or throw away something of value.

I'm sorry, I have no idea but some creative google searching might help you. I have seen pages that can help you identify certain editions but I don't remember where they are exactly.

The first edition of "Scarlet Sister Mary" was published in 1928. The novel about the Gullah people in South Carolina won the Pulitzer prize for the Novel in 1929.
