How do you get in the mental place where you find this deeper interior and write?
I simply turn on the TV to low and clear my mind. When I write well, it simply flows. When I can't write and I struggle, it is better to wait for another day.
I believe that people have a barrier that seperates the dreaming mind to the waking one. As the dreaming mind is inherently creative (It takes disparate things and creates a coherent world) I desire a constant flow of imagery between the dreaming mind and the conscious reflective mind. I believe this dreaming mind continually cretes an imaginary world, it is just the isolation of consciousness that sleep provides that allows us to notice it. The methods I use to keep this flow between these two modes of thinking are calm abiding meditation/zazen, active imagination (see Carl Jung info), free writing during the early stages of drafting and dream analysis. As the unconscious mind/dream cognition uses the language we are given as a structure and is at heart metaphorical a more intimate connection to it can be very helpful to your writing and also give you a closer connection to outside world.
first clear your head.make sure you are alone, cuz this may be weird.now think of your past.was it good was it bad?the wordsa should float on the paper.
