Would you read a Fantasy book from an author if its his first published work?

I have been writting a Fantasy book here and there for several years as a hobby, how likely would someone read a book of this type from a previously unpublished author?

Why not?  Sometimes, the first book of an author can be fantastic.  True, many authors need to learn their craft by going through the process many times, but you can't know that a newly published author hasn't already done that privately (unpublished) and has produced a polished product in the published work.

Yes, I enjoy finding new authors whose work I will follow.  I think people are very likely to read it with the right kind of promotion so people know about it.

Many authors got their start in the fantasy genre. As long as you take the time to edit and polish your novel, I see no reason why people wouldn't take the time to read it. If you have passion for it and you persevere, you will find success. My biggest advice is to find a fan of the fantasy genre to read over one of the drafts. When I was writing my first novel, I ran into the problem a lot where the people reading it were not familiar with the genre. So it made for a lot of comments that weren't terribly helpful. But when you find someone who really likes fantasy, you will get honest and productive feedback.

Absolutely I would! Some of the best stories I have read over the years have come from brand new authors just getting their feet wet. And Fantasy is such a wide open genre, pretty much anything goes, right? It is a fun category to read and to try and write.

Excellent! I love your comments, I do love how open the "Fantasy" genre is.
      Thanks

I love fantasy - if the book cover & description catch my attention I would probably read the book whether it was a first novel or not.

Over the past couple of years I've used my Kindle to find many new self published authors that I really like.  I really do love finding new independent authors and supporting them if I like their work. But I do tend to pass up new books on store shelves if I've not heard of the book or author unless the description really grabs my attention.

Hmm, Interesting..... When you find authors with your Kindle are they cheaper than purchasing a book in the store, and if so by how much cheaper? Digital is "The Way" for most things anymore I think,
      Thanks,

Yes, self published authors on kindle offer their work at a lower price. But it's about so much more than finding good reads at a cheap price. You can really reach readers on a more personal level now and building a supportive fan base is achievable.
