How do you help yourself with 'writing crisis'?

Do you sometimes have some periods when you just can't write? When you just sit and think, write few words and that's it? How do you motivate yourself in those times?

Writer's block happens. I take it as a sign that I'm not supposed to be writing at the moment.  I find what other aspects of my life I've been neglecting and focus on those for awhile.  Obviously, you can force words onto the page, but we know that doesn't feel right, nor does it come out sounding as inspired as our usual work.  I suggest doing something else for awhile.  Exercise, play, work, or whatever to reset your focus.  Some people pray to their muse...something you could consider.

Thank you very much for your answer. I never thought about 'finding' a muse, I will try that. And try to relax and focus on those pictures in my mind that occur during the day, but disappear when I want to write wink Thank you again!

You need to refocus your attention on some other pressing matter or just do something different for awhile. You may find inspiration somewhere least expected and your muse will return when ready.
Be aware of your surroundings, read a book, listen to music, or just go for a walk outdoors.
If all else fails just try writing randomly anything that pops into your head. It may turn out garbage or a surprising masterpiece of unexpected wisdom.

Thank you for your answer. And the help. The problem is that words are in my mind during the day, vivid as pictures. But when the time for writing comes (when kids are asleep) I just can't put them on paper. I will try to relax first wink
