From me, of me, mine

Mine

You say you know her?

My daughter?

You do not know her.

not even close.

I grew her from a seed,

deep.

A single seed,

in me.

Mine.

Entwined with my cells,

sharing my blood,

cocooned in my core.

Mine.

Slicing my flesh,

tugged into this world,

warm and slick,

a gift.

Mine.

Unwrapped,

Naked,

ten fingers,

ten toes,

Perfect.

Mine.

I stare,

I cry,

I swaddle,

Mine.

I Nourish,

protect,

wrap her in

love,

Mine.

You say you know her?

My daughter?

You do not know her.

not even close.

I grew her from a seed,

deep.

A single seed,

in me.

Mine.

      Oh, Lori,

I have thought about your situation almost daily.

You have not given any clues in a long time.

I read that as a negative sign.

I will sit beside you. You don't have to talk.

      I am a mother, too.

I am so sorry for your pain.

      DJ.

Actually DJ, she is starting come round. It is the men in her life that seem to think they know what she needs and how to administer it. She is waking up though and for that I am grateful! You know as well as I do, no one knows what a mother's child needs more than her mother! Thanks for thinking of us and I'm sorry I have been away.

You are so right. No one knows what their child needs like their Mother.

Sending positive thoughts and energy your way.

Or, as others might say, sending angels you way.

      DJ.

Thank you all for taking the time and stopping to read my poem! The battle still rages on, yet I am stronger and more hopeful!
