Poems of Happiness
Happy Poems - Original Poems of Happiness
Even when things aren't going the way we want or expect, it is still possible to find small nuggets of happiness in your simple experience. When I am in a happy mood, I often find something touching that inspires a happy poem. Below are a few of my original poems of happiness that I hope you will enjoy. And, naturally, I hope they might add a touch of happiness to your day.

A Song that Makes You Happy
Is there a song that makes you happy, makes you smile
It may trigger your memory of walking down the aisle
Maybe it reminds you of lazy days at summer camp
Or coming into the house from the cold and damp
Perhaps it is the message in the words that lingers
Or the tingle may only be there with a specific singer
Maybe it's the song you and he danced to under the stars
Or it's the rhythm that was always blaring from the car
Whatever it is, I know that I can't be the only soul
To whom a simple or impressive song gives console
Whichever happy song it is, sing it, hum it, hear it
And, if you need to, move your body to be near it
Your Wide Grin
To see your wide grin
From happiness within
Should be infectious
Like a yawn; infectious
'Cause when you frown
It pulls me down
Oh, To be Happy
Oh to be happy like a child again
With the world laid out before me
No responsibility; No territory to defend
Just having my mom read me a story
Oh to be happy like a child again
Waking with a grin on each new day
As each gem uncovered is a bargain
My education, acquired through play
Oh to be happy like a child again
Hungry for a small discovery
A polished stone or shell or ten
Reading during a rainy day recovery
Oh to be happy like a child again
Laughing when I fell in the snow
Always 'higher' on the swing, then
Vibrant dreams by kiss bestowed

Smiley Face
a poem
I love the cute smiley face
And the emoticons in my mail
My moodiness they displace
A childlike amusement prevails
The smile osmoses to my lips
An inner gratification arrives
Just a hint of a small ellipse
A slice of happiness survives
