Poem: I Give And I Give And I Give

Updated on December 10, 2013

by Grace Peterson

I gave you my trust,
and I gave you my love,
and I gave you my friendship,
and I gave you my life.

You threw it all away
with just a few simple words.
What was there before,
you say isn't there anymore.

How can something so strong
be gone so quickly?

I give you my attention,
and I give you all my time,
and I give you all of my affection,
and I give you my life.

You don't appreciate it.
You toss it aside
like you can't see it,
like you can't see what I give you.

I will give you my years to come,
and I will give you my damaged heart,
and I will give you my acceptance,
and I will always give you my life.

You're the biggest part of it.
No one can replace you.
I love you,
and I will always
give you my everything
no matter what
