Poem: Last Thoughts of an Old Man.
She Was Loved Until The End.
When will I see you again. You smile as you turn and you say I love you and I know from your heart that these words are so true. I think of the days of so long ago, the sunshine the beachside the wonder of you. Some said I was foolish to ask you to dance, I knew you'd say yes and I thought of romance.
As time did pass our love it did grow, a family was ours and we loved them all so. Our children brought pride as they passed through life, one took a husband the other a wife. Our love did mellow as the years they went by, we smiled with contentment but sometimes a sigh.
You turn round again with those tears in your eyes, you look back and smile but I see your sighs. I'm now on a road I must travel alone, I lie under the grass, I lie under the stone - God bless you my darling.
A reflection on a life.
