Lonelyness having lost a loved one
Lost Love
I have seen a tie thrown carelessly across the floor
seen a love-sick animal that barks no more
And felt the pangs of loneliness.
I have seen a shirt slung needlessly across a chair
watched that love - sick animal with eyes that stare
And felt a twinge of emptiness.
In the night a tear has foolishly slid down my cheek
followed by so many tears for love I seek
And sleep has failed to greet me.
In the day a smile has forcibly spread o'er my face
trying to abandon love that's left its trace
But joy has failed to reach me,.
I have seen your eyes appealingly from wooden frame
Seen those ties and shirts are still the same
and felt return of loneliness,
known the twinge of emptiness,
And loved you even more
