The Sky at Night
Moon, stars and love
This is the darkest night l´ve ever known,
Black, with no starlight, no moon has shown.
No, Our moon, not once its face has shown.
Not tonight it seems to say,
Just for once, l´ve gone away.
But in my place what can you see?
l scan the sky for what may be,
And suddenly one shining star,
The only light.... ah! there you are.!
Is it you? Are you my star,
My long-lost love ,it´s you afar?!
The breeze, it blows my hair askew,
It´s very long, as l promised you.
¨Don´t cut your hair, when we grow old,
l don´t care if it´s grey or gold¨.
l promised you and this l keep,
Old-fashioned plait to go to sleep.
l look up to the sky again,
but still no moon is in the frame.
Only one bright shining star,
It must be you, showing where you are,.
You´d never leave me so alone,
You´re looking down at our old home.
l know you´re there.Your spirit warms me.
How could l live without you , dear,
How could l live if you´re not here?,
l´m dead inside, my life is you.
and yet God says MY life´s not through.
Please visit with your sparkling star,
every night you have , so far.
It´s the only way l´ll learn to cope,
looking at your star of hope.
l love you more than ever, now
Without the moon, l´ll cope somehow,
But not without my shining star,
l need to look, see where you are.
It´s only in my head, l know.,
but without these thoughts, where would l go?
To some dark place, l´ve been before.....
Not an option.!There l must not go.
You´re still with me
You´re in my heart.
You always will be.
We´ll never part.
You promised me. l promised you.
And nothing cuts a love so true.
In years to come, where will we be?
Together again, l´m sure. You´ll see.
