Emotion's Flow...A NiaG Poem
High, low, whirling round
Up again, even higher, then back down
Tracing the skies feeling the flow
Do you feel it now, now do you know
The weightlessness becomes a dream
Reality isn't at all what it seems
The euphoria you feel could end at any time
Cherish this moment and follow this wind
Hurry it's changing now
Feeling not at all like it began
Time's running out, your wavering to the ground
You can hear the whirling stop, oh where is the sound
Things are at a still, everything's quieted down
How will you get up again, now feeling the cold ground
Hush, listen, the air's beginning to change
Could it be that whirling wind has found you again
Reach up, grab on and don't let go
You're flying high again, in ectasy, feeling the flow
Meaning Behind the Poem: This poem, in my opinion, expresses how feelings are much like how a feather sometimes flows when a breeze catches it. If you notice the flow of a feather when the wind catches it, it flows upward and flies high until the wind dies down and then it falls. Flying high again when the next wind comes. In this poem the different stages one feels as they go through the cycle of falling in love is represented. One moment they are up and filling alive. Feeling as though they are soaring above every cloud in the sky. But love can not remain on a constant high and in the blink of an eye one can be as low as the ground. Either the two in the relationship have gotten into an argument, causing that feeling of euphoria to wind down or they have run into hard times that puts stress on the relationship. And then when the two come together and find their happiness again love takes off on another high again.
Or it symbolizes the way one feels when they fall in and out of love very easily. Some people have the tendency to have an open heart when it comes to love. They may find someone for the moment that makes their heart go pitter patter. But they may also find themselves falling out of love as easily as it came on. The heart becomes destroyed and filled with despair. And once they are over the first, they allow themselves to be swept up by the feelings of love again with another. The feeling of love is just as strong as it was before.
It also doesn't have to relate to the feelings of love. It could just be the feeling one gets when they set out to meet a goal. Running into highs and lows along the way are apart of obtaining any goal. And feelings can go from way up high to way down low. And once a person achieves getting over another hurdle during the process of reaching their goals, they are flying high through the skies again. They will find themselves constantly chasing those feelings, getting one step closer to their goals and dreams. As with any poem, it's interpretation can and will vary from person to person.
