Poems: The Letter Love
Original Title "Love Letter"
Never have I felt more alone than in your presence
Dragging behind in your shadow just leaves me feeling cold and looking pathetic
Like a hammer you take every opportunity to push me down, but never do you lift me up
Your love shows me nothing, but your actions say many things; “I love you” being last on the list
You say you want me, and I need you
I say I want you, but don’t need this drama script
Besides I never took an acting course
Don’t know how to fake love
Rolling on the floor laughing real hard because I actually believed you were sent from above
But by some strange happenstance you must be
Because your presence inspires me
Inspires me to want better, do more, be creative and different
Unable to picture my life without you in it
Wondering, is it your touch I would miss so much? Or do you bring something else to the table that would leave me hungry for more?
As sad as it seems I don’t want to let go
But if that’s what it comes to then you must know
There was never one like you before your day came, there may have been slightly better, but still not the same.
See no one had a part of me the way you do
I didn’t even try to love, wasn’t sure what it meant
These days I’m unsure of the phrase “heaven sent”
One thing I know for sure, I appreciate you, even feeling unappreciated
And I experienced love with you, even if not reciprocated
