How Did I find Someone-- It Began the Year less Expected

Updated on September 22, 2012

Leaving my place to take that ride to nowhere

looking around, searching and almost never found

moving to that street that we were

suppose to meet: Elsewhere St.

seeing faces, seeing this melting pot and all those races

give me time, give me a clue..to meet your mind and see you through

Just a minute, get in here. You are almost near.... you are almost there...

Hi. My name is Michael Felingher**, 25 years old. Senior Airman USAF.

Today I want to share a story, my own story...

I graduated from Liberty high school in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, in 2004. Since I was five or six years old I dreamed of joining our arm forces.

My uncle was a drill sergeant at Fayetteville North Carolina AB. I did my eight weeks and a half of BMT training camp at Lackland Air force Base in San Antonio,Texas. After graduating in September 2004, I was heading to Biloxi Mississippi to step into my next level of graduation. I wanted to see where I was needed as an Airman.

From there I was transfered to Peterson Colorado where I began to get involved in my main field: Telecommunications. I saw so many friends of mine heading back home for the most stupid and ridiculous things.

Mostly was for being late to return to our barracks. Sneaking girls was common between some young peers, but was high priced paid for a few hours of entertainment, and other things that need not to be mentioned. In 2009 I made my first deployment to Afghanistan and 8 months later I was sent to Iraq.

Temperatures over 140 Fahrenheit degrees were common at midday with all our infantry gadgetry adding our common fears. Our service was necessary for strategic reasons and also to develop our own character and temple. Some tasks were certainly classified.

We were facing mercenaries that were in the business for quite a few years and that was a challenge for any of us. In 2010 I was sent to Germany to improve my Telecommunication skills and get other trainings associated with my career as an Electrical Engineer. In February of 2010 was promoted to Senior airman classification E-3.

Around early July 2010 I was in Frankfurt taking the day off after my classes in IT information technology).

THAT DAY HAS ARRIVED...

I remember I was driving my Nissan GT 2007, that was sent to Germany on my request via regular ship container. All of a sudden I Had the luck to see a cute girl next to me on a red light. Her Sport Mercedes was as hot as she.

She was wearing sunglasses and I smiled at her, turning up the volume of my own music. My eyebrows made a move and.... I recognized this girl from somewhere.

"Helen?" that was all I could say. "Yes?... Michael? Oh my God! You are Michael the American friend, right?" she said. She was an old friend from Czech Republic, who came to the U.S. back in 2003 as an exchange student from eastern Europe.

We became friends almost instantly and unfortunately we had to say goodbye after those short 12 months.

She went back to her Country and graduated in 2004 too. Eventually, she happened to move to Germany to study medicine and become a Physician, and as a twist of fate our paths met again. That weekend, 'our catch up' date was magnificent and it was a day that we will never forget.

So far, we've got along well and even with our own cultural differences we have been together for 2 years and nothing has broken us apart. Time was on our side and perhaps an act of God.

We go from here and look up above

At nights we look for the brightest star

We always embrace and thank God

Just loving each one day by day... we will get that far

on that street that we agreed upon, to meet: 'Elsewhere Street'
