Freedom
Freedom is another word for nothing left to lose.
It's special, standing on the rim of reality, with the ocean spread out before you,
Reminding yourself not to look down, you begin to look at everything around you,
Spread your arms and feel the breeze, you know the world is yours to take,
This situation is familiar. It's to do or die, make or break.
Mind made up, you prepare to make the move. Then hesitate.
Your acceptance of freedom is expelled by thoughts of destiny and fate,
'Fate?' you ask, order in the chaos called life that I can't rewind,
A smile on your lips you take the jump, not lamenting what you've left behind.
Letting go, jumping off the edge and taking the fall isn't easy,
But then, tell me who said freedom was?
You just let go and enjoy the flight down,
For if you do, you're no longer in fate's jaws.
The first thing that crosses your mind is 'Oh my God! What did I just so?'
Then it hits you, you've done what only the bold dare to do.
The sound of the wind rushing past your face seems like the best sound you've heard,
Close your eyes, so, this is what it feels like to be a bird!
Freedom! Glorious Freedom! You can feel your heart soaring
This is it! The feel of the breeze and the sound of the wind roaring,
Take a deep breath and open your eyes, you're actually enjoying the fall,
Then you see the ocean, coming towards you like a great bright blue wall.
Fear! Then nothing as you let yourself go and plunge into the deep blue,
Grasp for breath and you know why freedom is a place reached by a small few.
Letting do, jumping off the edge and trying the sall isn't easy,
But then, tell me who said freedom was?
You just let go and enjoy the flight down,
For if you do, you're no longer in destiny's claws.
“The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage. " - Thucydides
