Oona Bramblegoop's New Rules Upset the Other Fairies

Kate Korsh's delightful character Oona Bramblegoop is back in another adventure that also has a life lesson. Oona Bramblegoop's Sideways Magic When Fairies Go Too Far is a fun read for ages 6-10 in a chapter book for fans of this fun character. Fairies do not like too many rules.

Oona Bramblegoop has waited a long time to become a member of the fairy council. She has finally gained membership and she has a lot of ideas for the fairy kingdom. Oona has been asked to come up with some new rules and Oona is excited to start her new project. The head of the council really likes all of Oona's ideas for new rules. Oona also has created punishments for the other fairies who might break any of the new rules. One of the new punishments will be a two-week suspension of wand privileges if any violate Rule Number 1001. The other fairies begin to violate the new rule and begin to lose their privileges for using their magic wands. The other fairies believe that the new rules should concentrate on treating others with kindness. Oona soon realizes that she has made a mistake by making so many rules. An amusing emergency with underwear creates more adventures with trying to save Fairyland from all of these new rules. Oona learns a life lesson that friendship and saving Fairyland for her friends is more important than having so many rules.

Fun facts about the fairy world are sprinkled throughout the book. Did you know that becoming a Grand Fairy is the most advanced stage of a fairy's life? Did you know that a fairy can get laryingitis by losing a singing contest with a macaw?

Marta Altes contributed her talents as an illustrator to create engaging illustrations to tell Oona's new story. The illustrations are creatively done in pink, a favorite color of all of the fairies.

Oona Bramblegoop's Sideways Magic When Fairies Go Too Far was published by G. P. Putnam's Sons. It has an ISBN of 978-0-593-53372-7.
