Poems That Tickle My Feet XI---The Spider's Demise
The Spider's Demise - By Pat Gillem
Come into my house, said the spider to the fly,
and I will give you some sweet apple pie.
So the fly walked in and said, ''I love to eat.''
'' Where do I find this wonderful treat?''
''You'll have to climb my web, to get that tasty pie,''
said the spider, with a glint in his evil eye.
As soon as the fly touched the web, he became stuck fast,
and the spider smiled and thought, '' I have my prey at last.''
And while he was thinking,' I am becoming quite a wizard,'
the fly pulled out a shiny gun, and shot him in the gizzard!
