Safe Havens Secret Love

This safe haven story takes place in a town called Southport, North Carolina.

A young woman named Katie arrives mysteriously in South Port looking for a safe haven from her past. Everyone wonders what her story is. She becomes friends with a widowed man named Alex and his two children and her neighbor Jo. Alex has a kind heart and she falls in love with him along the way of being there. She is afraid to put down any roots because of her past and struggles with what to do but over time she lets her guard down. Will she choose a life of safety or be fearful of her past?

It's hard to make a change but admiral of those who do. That's what caught my attention about his book. I was in my own need of a safe haven at one time plus its by one of my favorite authors Nicholas Sparks. I was working at a library when this book first came out. That was when I started reading books by Nicholas Sparks. I've read several; this one is next on my list to read. Now the movie of this book is coming out this February 14, 2013 on Valentines Day which I'm looking forward to seeing. I can't wait to start reading this book and find a safe haven within the pages of Southport as the story unfolds.

Everyone says the books are better than the movie's. Well in this case I have to agree since I was able to read the book before I went to the movie. So doing a comparison as I sat there was a little disappointing. There were quite a few details rewritten that didn't go with the book. I understand for the rewrite for a movie so it flows for the audience and makes more sense. Although I'd say the book is pretty thrilling in the areas that was shown differently in the book.

Overall I enjoyed both. I would see the movie again and even own it. I highly suggest reading the book. Nicholas Sparks is a awesome writer and I truly love his books and his movies that go with them.

Starting over from a domestic abuse situation is really hard. I really hand it to those who do and who can now think optimistically. It may be rough getting to the road of happiness but once you do it will be fulfilling for a happier life!
