Scars of life

Updated on November 5, 2012

No one lives and has ¨no scars

¨Why do you compare?

Compare yourself to others?

You wonder if you¨re good enough,

as good as other wives and mothers.

Pure, precious person,

That is what you are,

Unique as are we all.

Although you see your scar.

The scar that we ALL have,

from living life before,

without it means we haven´t lived,

So embrace your scar, that´s sore.

How do you compare?

Why should you even try?

Everyone is different,

And changing till they die.

Yes, you will also change,

It´s natural with your scar,

but it doesn't mean it´s bad.!

Stand tall. Be who you are.!

What you are is precious,

Priceless loving girl

don´t lick your wounds too long,

COME!. Let your life unfurl.

We all scar in some way or another from life's experiences. Some visible, and some hidden, though never far below the surface. Beautiful hub. :)

One word I didn't look up carnival I tried sounding it out.I was wrong again.See when your day is rough you just have to say Dream On is having it tough. He makes so many more mistakes than me.I am happy now.We all have many reasons to make our life worthwhile.I chose to make you smile for a long long while.Still not giving away any trade secrets on your beautiful writing style. I understand.Take a walk.Take a jog.But for goodness sake don't just sit there like a bump on a log.You can write later it is time for exercise.(ha ha)

You have another winner. If you were at a carnaval you would hear all the bells and whistles go off with this one.How do you do it time after time?God Bless your wonderful charm.I got so tired of licking my wounds I just keep a variety of wounds at any one time so no time to lick. They are just like bruises here for a long time and when they are gone you forgot you even had them. Thanks for going up and beyond.

I like this Dim, I was actually drawn to the title, and I was just listening to the song by Sting "How Fragile we are" similarly "No one lives and has no scars" It is part of life and growth and no one gets through without a few war wounds. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" with a lot of scar tissue! you just don't feel it after awhile perhaps ;-) Enjoyed!

Thank you Alastar, I especially loved the reference to a snowflake, . Isn´t it amazing that something so small can be unique? Every single snowflake is different

just as we , people are .

    i appreciate your support.

From a man's perspective: You women should always keep in mind and soul how the real men feel about you. You are the balance of life and happiness. Your very existence and proximity stirs our blood to finer things and whenever you doubt yourselves, remember the uniqueness of the snow-flake with its beauty and cleansing power on Mother Earth's very tableau.

    Hi there , Lucky cats,

Well you were right on my wavelength with this little poem.

Too much time wasted on trying to look like or be like somebody else. We all need to realise our own worth.

Thanks for the comment. Take care.

Hi Sunnie Day, Always love to see your face here.

You know, I am one of the worlds´worst for licking my wounds for too long. Always find it difficult to move on. As I get older it´s even harder. I really should dedicate this poem to myself.!!! Hee hee. O where would we be without friends and a sense of humour.???

    Take care,

Hope you are ÜP¨at the moment. xxx

Up Awesome and Beautiful, Dim Flaxenwick! Sweet words of encouragement...and it applies to all of us and we all get to feel as if you are speaking to the women in your reading audience. Thank you. this is a message which is sorely needed in this day and age when we are almost encouraged to "dislike" who we are while constantly trying to be someone else because we fail to see ourselves clearly..Certainly, I believe there are few exceptions. Again, thank you for these wise and caring words.

My friend Dim, so nice to read your words. They are so true at time's for me at least it's very difficult to pull myself up and over to the bright side of living, I write so soulfully from my life's past experiences and many times it pulls me into my dark cave, where I hide for a few days.

Yet my destiny is to continue to share, to write and thus my Muse pulls me from the dark abyss and lays my quill back between my fingers to write once more. There are truths in what you've penned here my sweet friend and we need to all take Hark...hugs to you from me.
