Second Sight (Arcane Society)
Arcane Society Series by Amanda Quick
Second Sight by Amanda Quick had been sitting on my bedside table for a couple of weeks. I started to read it several times, but something always stopped me. It is a paranormal romance which is set during Victorian times.
A friend of mine and fellow Squidoo lensmaster, ElizabethJeanAllen, introduced me to the world of the Arcane Society by recommending Jayne Ann Krentz's White Lies, when the latest Nora Roberts wasn't to my liking. I started reading the Arcane Society novels in reverse order, the more recent ones first, then went back to the beginning. That's why I'm just now getting to Second Sight, which is actually the first in the series.
Another of the other Arcane Society books that I really enjoyed was Fired Up which is the first of the new Dreamlight Trilogy. Like the other Arcane Society books, some of the Dreamlight trilogy is set during Victorian times and some in modern time.
You may also enjoy the newest, Looking Glass Trilogy book, from Jayne Ann Krentz, called In Too Deep. The mysterious, powerful lamp, dreamlight readers, Jones and Jones Investigation and the Winters' clan are prominent in this series of paranormal romance mysteries.

According to the blurb, Second Sight is set in Victorian England. The characters include Gabriel Jones, one of the infamous Jones men of the secret paranormal organization, the Arcane Society and Venetia Milton, a photographer with a special way of "seeing" beyond her subjects. The other two high ranking Jones men, Thaddeus Ware and Caleb Jones, are also involved in the mystery. Gabriel and Venetia must pose as husband and wife as they work to track down a dangerous opponent of the Joneses.

Many deadly poisons were used to develop photographs during Victorian times.... a murder waiting to happen, me thinks.

The author tells you a little about Second Sight and the other Arcane Society books. Wow, this makes you want to pick the book back up from the night stand and READ.
About Jayne Ann Krentz
Jayne Ann Krentz writes under her own name and several pen names, including Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle.
Her Arcane Society novels are my favorite. When I want to relax and get away from the real world for a while, I enjoy books about people with paranormal abilities and mysteries with a little romance.
These books have all three.

Fired Up, the first of the Dreamlight Trilogy takes place in modern times. When a gifted but dangerous man seeks the help of an equally gifted female private detective to find a missing family artifact which looks like an odd, vase like lamp, things really start to heat up in more ways than one.
If you like a bit of the paranormal and a good detective story, then you'll enjoy the Dreamlight Trilogy books.

There's a new Arcane Society Trilogy in town. The Looking Glass Trilogy continues with the Jones clan of talents and J and J Investigation Agency. The first book, "In Too Deep", features Fallon Jones, head of J and J and his new assistant and investigator, Isabella Valdez.
