Finding oneself

Updated on November 6, 2012

If I Were You and You Were Me...........

my boys and Amz
my boys and Amz

Who Am I?

 If I were you

and you were me

I wonder where

today we´d be!

For you dark skies

just don´t exist

erase them softly

with a kiss

from me , who sees

the darkest night.

Me, who´s become too tired

to fight.

If I were you

and you were me

what would become of

our family.?

The happy ´me´

they´ve always known

disintegrated gone,

alone. ! Alone is

where I want to be

They wouldn´t understand

Why should they?

With youth. , and dreams

before them.

With all the things

I´ve taught them.

How could they know

this´óther me´

The ´me´I don´t

want them ever to see

With you they never see it

even though

you also feel it

You always think the best

I give in

and want to rest.

If I were you

and you were  me

How different then

things would be.

Happiness would fill the air

the way it did for years,.

When I was really ´me´

Not always filled with tears..

I´m sorry that

I feel this way.

I´ll try again tomorrow

I can´t be you.

You can´t be me

Yet what a team we made.

Let´s put it back

together.

With part of you

and part of me.

Our love goes on

Forever.

I felt the sense of inner and outer identity. The part of us we show and the part we perhaps only show to certain friends. Life is amazing when we meet people who reveal in us the person we really are, it can be truly magic when it happens. This is a beautiful hub, and introspective. I like.

Sometimes we just have to let all the goo inside leak out. A wise person once told me you can't be filled...until you are empty. Your poetry is beautifully gooey :)

Better days are always just ahead of the storms.

I might enjoy it so much.I hope things are better and lots of hugs to warm you up on the coldest of days.

This is a wonderful poem and I can relate to it quite well. At the risk of sounding uncaring (wich I'm not) I just have to tell you that with the larger picture of your profile pic, I was happily shocked to realize there is a stuffed kitty there!!!! heheheheeee, its too cute. I never noticed him before. Its funny how if you take a step back, and look at the bigger picture, you might see things you had been missing out on. ;)

Hi Dim, I don't think you should give in to these feelings. I know exactly what you mean but I have learned it is a matter of how you see things....and you can be wrong! I was...for years!

Dim, To say this is truly poetic is an understatement; it really is lovely prose. I can say we all feel isolated and alone at times more so than others. Times like those life seems dark and empty. "Reach out in the darkness and you may find a friend." I'll send some fond thoughts your direction through the web and will hope it finds you. xxxooo

Sweet picture of your kids. So young, so much promise!
