Spring time morning snow

Updated on September 5, 2014

The gifts that you have gave me

Your smiles and open heart

Like memories of a past life

Now fading in the dark

When once I was desired

Feels not so long ago

Just temporary like a flower

Or spring time morning snow

My failings holding one bird

Already in my hand

Afraid to chase more in the bush

I build castles in the sand

Those castles that my dreams built

Where I would run and hide

Destroyed by your cruel black heart

And callous selfish tides

Your gift to me I know at last

For I've faced all my fears

That heartless acts

And cold retorts

Do not deserve my tears

Absolutly perfect

Jon, those who bring pain and darkness are not worth our tears. I love the ending to this poem. There is something beautiful to be seen or recognized in every situation. All we have to do is be willing to see.
