Word Salad

Updated on March 20, 2011

Add all ingredients

Even the deviants

They hide well under

Pleasant sounding tones

Pound out the heartache

The core comes out easily

It only needs twisted, then torn

Decorate the edges with

never meant pledges

and garnish with a dressing of tears

Serve it up gaily

When eaten daily

They say it will cure all your pain

Swallow the bitter

It helps numb the memories

Of promises that never were born

On to the main course

Just keep on dining

Keep it all down with a smile

Don’t pay attention to your aching digestion

They say it will disappear in a while.

This is an older one where I saw the photo and the words came along. The food looks fresh and good but somewhat dangerous too! Thanks for reading and commenting!

Hello Poohgranma. This is so very creative. Your words coices are excellent, the cadence and flow are perfect. Words are so powerful, the Bible says they have the power of life and death. That is proven so many times. You have been masterful here in this poem.

Pooh-Loved how you used metaphors of food to explain the pain. Nice work but very sad. God Bless you friend:)

Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down, is that all it takes. I loved the way you took these delicious ingredients and unfolded the veggie delight with a flurry of succulent words. Life is like a mixed salad, that's why I'm a vegetarian. Bravo, applaud, wonderful poem, you are genius.

Your mere presence at my hubs is honor enough, but knowing you related to this made every smile I have smiled before pale in comparison. Thank you bro Micky.

Aw, epi, you've served up another helping of flattery and encouragement. I always have room for that! And after I totally missed the mark on your latest write (I am so embarrassed). Thanks for your kindness.

epigramman 7 years ago this is a 'word salad' that I could easily indulge in - please may I have another plate of this incredibly clever and witty wordplay which could only come from someone as incredibly clever and witty - and obviously very talented (too) as you!!!!

Oh stars, you always flatter me so, but thank-you!

Randy - love seeing you here! I have NO clue where this came from except when you're hurting so bad you can barely eat it seems even the food has turned to torture.

Munch, munch, much. I always thought of words as yummy, but you show another side to them. This was fun.
