Would You Disco With Me?

Updated on September 20, 2012

Get in the Mood! and listen With Us...!

Would You Disco With Me?

Dance, darling dance.. don't need to apologize!

feel this entrancing beat closing in

feeling close to a romance with no end

gathering strength, me and my friends

joining collective ecstasy as well

those days are gone, but here we are

with our bright colors and your red "hot pants"

platform shoes that defined a trend

shiny fabrics for you, me and my men

Wow! woman your high boots are a killer

waiting for you to make me quiver

my bell bottoms are hiding my connections

with a happy ending besides infatuation

the beat is a real killer darling amour

is all about excess and chick flavor

denim polyester jacket

chewing gum right in my pocket

Oh Manhattan's studio 54

Bianca Jagger next to Phil Spector

seems like yesterday that we all snored

the breeze air from Hudson river and kept asking for more

Robert Stigwood, would you please close that door?

Jackson Five, Michael Jackson and Gloria Gaynor...

They were granting us with their best songs

Bee Gees came from down under causing ruckus, tremors and all...

Turning the beat to a 'Hussled' kind of day

Travolta joined our team to impress My Peggy Lane

Maxi dress Satin, even better for a late night scene

Disco ball up above, turning my fate so unforgiven for this drag queen

those were the days that you would share love...

and love would come back with a 'Hippie shake of hands'

Psychedelic lights that would follow after an Afro Latin dance

Romance would help us keep population at higher rates than Imperial Japan

There we go my sweet woman... that I adore

move that hip like the one I fell for, before!

DJ, turn the table to feel this dancing floor

not much backslash, my woman wants some more!

Thank God is Friday, oh sweet Lord

Saturday night fever will be around and you know...

you know that the night will end on the floor

of that penthouse hotel, room number 54

Olivia Newton-John, that was my woman's kind of smile

after dancing on that satin sheet, way up high

we invented break-dance in our own steamy style

moving bodies that gave this night, the Disco era

the changed our lives...!

Hi SamanthaM Smith, not sure if it will ever come back. All depends of trending and monetary feedback to investors. So, everything is possible!

Disco is old school and so cool. Do you think it will ever make a huge comeback?

Lord - we used to tell the docs that when all the patients went to sleep (it was a sleep lab) we dropped the disco ball (hidden in the ceiling) and got the party started! Lol. It was always a big joke - this so reminded me of that!

That bought it all back. I'm originally from Bay Ridge, in Brooklyn, New York and many a Saturday night was spent in Manhattan's discos. When Saturday Night Fever came out me and my friends followed the route of the movie. Ever try Travolta's swagger while eating a pizza? lol on the streets of Bensonhurst no less, what a mess.

Yes Mary 615, those were the days of Disco and its unique style. Seems that it was just 10 years ago, but nowadays, mudic and times are different. We are left with the videos, the CD's and at least the turntable...

    Thanks again Mary and goodnite!

The Bee Gees have always been a favorite of mine. I never did these dances, but they sure look like fun. I do love the music from that time, though. We mostly did the jitterbug when I was a teen! Great Hub. Goodnight.

    Hello there Frank!

This inspiration was dedicated to the people that lived through those years. I'm a die hard of that music and its particular beat. Actually, they were the predecessor of rap, Hip Hop and Euro Disco. Thanks my friend!
