Your love is like the ocean

Updated on October 20, 2012

Your love is like the ocean

All things that I adore

But like the tides

You come and go

My heart the waiting shore

Arms open wide

Your love flows in

To feel joy at my side

But bitter sweet is your embrace

Too soon you run and hide

Back and forth in a cruel game

Your love moves like the sea

Watching you pulled far away

Praying you'll return to me

Hey, Jon! It feels like forever since we've touched base; my fault, not yours! I love the beginning of this poem. I can relate. I can also relate to the ending. My heart has given up on finding true love. I feel yours is still yearning. That's a good thing.

      Love Ya My Friend!

"Back and forth in a cruel game

Your love moves like the sea" ....i love these lines.

But the tide always comes back which is promising. Also, the attraction back to the shore depends from the pull of the moon. You can be the moon too pulling her back towards your direction. Do well always, my friend. She could change her mind one day.

Very nice significant poetry! Another good one. Sharing.

Simba.......You have expressed the reality of your pain and dilemma with perfection....like the tides, she comes and goes.......but like the ocean, your love is deep and constant. This plants the seed that will grow....to bring her home to stay.

I love how you used the ocean to describe that sometimes back and forth flooding in and then receding back, which only happens when one or the other is not really sure of how true the other is, maybe due to his or her actions or lack thereof. In that scenario, really one has no choice but to recede as the ocean's tides. However, if one has no doubt, then it would be like a full on force of a tsunami . . . no way to stop it.

Really nice one. Voted up God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper
