Home Improvement Buy a Crystal Chandelier Online - Cheap Chic

Updated on April 9, 2015

Everyone wants to cherish and love their home. How to make the best impression for the lowest amount of effort with the least of damage to your wallet? Lighting is always a bright and simple idea. How about taking the functionality of lighting a step farther and include crystal. A crystal chandelier makes a dramatic statement for most any room in the house. Most importantly, you can choose your chandelier and include either as a bargaining chip in the sale of your home or as an excluded item to take with you to cherish once again in your new abode. Whatever you choose, your home will glow with the luminescence of the lighting combined with the reflection of the crystal. Crystal chandeliers offer an impressive statement turning your home's interior from brightly lite to glowing under the vibrant light exuded from your chandelier

The joy of the crystal chandelier is the personality. The various styles include both sizes and colors and designs for every room of the home. Best yet, there is a crystal chandelier for every budget from $150 to $20,000 and beyond. The variety and the price ranges are simply only restricted by your imagination. Chandeliers are very much like a building block. Once you have chosen the base and the arms, you can add to your chandelier over time. Better than a charm bracelet or Pandora necklace, because the crystal chandelier adorns your home bringing both light and charm to your every day living space.

Famous Quotes on Crystal Chandeliers

“Why should I apologize because God throws in crystal chandeliers, mahogany floors, and the best construction in the world?”

Jim Bakker quotes

“I think more people don't build them because they're intimidated by the idea of decorating them. What they don't realize is that you can fill them with crystal chandeliers and Oriental rugs.”

Brenda Magnon quotes

One of my best and favorite on line purchases was my vintage chandelier. The funny thing is I am not normally in my décor a "vintage" style. Yet the style and grace of a crystal chandelier had caught my attention. And I searched and I searched and I bid and I lost and I bed again. Alas, at long, long last I had the vintage crystal chandelier of my dreams.

I proudly hung it in my modern vaulted dining room. It blended in a truly eclectic manner. So very uncharacteristic of me and yet others who favored modern always remarked how much they adored my Internet find.

The Ultimate Compliment on My Vintage Crystal Chandelier

Strangely enough, the ultimate compliment came from my realtor who normally is very tactful. She was a beautiful lady who I believe only did real estate for fun. Everything she did was the extreme - from her Mercedes SUV to her 12 acre estate and so on. You get the picture. While we working out the listing price sitting underneath my Internet find, when it came to the pieces not being included in the sale of the home, of course, first and foremost on my list was this chandelier that I had worked so hard for and was so very strongly attached to. She looked up and stated "I don't like crystal chandeliers but I do like that ONE!"! Wow!

New Life in a Vintage Home

Ironically or perhaps because of that special chandelier, the next chapter of my life went from a 1 acre modern ranch to a beautiful brick vintage 2 story charmer. The home has 44 windows and was built by a prominent jeweler. The interior reminds me of a jewelry box, the wood work is amazing. The story goes a single lady one owner before us, had stripped all the white paint herself through the home. The woodwork literally gleams with joy from that release and capture of the modern white paint.

A Couple of Thoughts From My Chandelier Escapade

  • Do shop on line and determine exactly what you like and don't like
  • Do compare with local stores
  • Learn the prices and set your budget and stick to the budget
  • Do bid and allow the pieces over your budget to go to another home
  • Do check out the sellers. If they are brand new - beware - this is a big purchase for most of us.
  • Do double check about broken missing pieces before bidding.
  • Do know the number of lights and color you prefer.
  • Measure, measure, measure!
  • Do learn the price of replacing or adding that particular crystal to your chandelier.
  • Do allow plenty of time for safely unpacking - it is a daunting task but well rewarding.
  • Do take your cherished piece to your next abode.

Home Improvement = Imagination = Personality

The personality of your crystal chandelier is only thwarted by your imaginations. The possibilities are even brought today with color being introduced vibrantly - from red crystals to blue to amber, gold - the color of the crystals are endless.

Change the Colors to Match the Season

I have a friend who years ago would change out the colors depending upon the holiday. It was a subtle change of simple a few added pendants.

Nowadays, the choices are even broader for personality - they include colored bases and arms. Do your research, see what you love, design your own crystal chandelier and you will delight in its glow for decades to come. Most of all, have fun with your remodeling project, enjoy the journey!

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

Even our master carpenter who has over 30 years of experience was shocked with the transformation with the light. Our home is from 1929 and the thing I cannot stand is the lighting. I have tried my best to make friends with the old frosted glass fixtures. I have even tried to add the recessed lights as a companion to retain them but have finally come to realize that I must let go - these fixtures do not provide the amount of light that makes me happy. And I am addicted to sunshine and bright artificial light. So within the next 30 days I plan on changing these fixtures out and finding a loving home out to an eBayer who can appreciate these unique fixtures.

The chandeliers I have added will of course stay - I think we are now saturated with having two but who knows what the kitchen will really need.

A modern pendant in the stairway is next but accompanied by the recessed lights.

For you for my style, I like all things bright - the bright chandelier, the bright recessed light, the bright pendant light. No wimpy lights for my home!

I am always amazed how much can be done with simple play of lights in one's home. I also believe chandeliers can't go out of style, because this would be just like color black could go out of fashion. They are here to stay!

You bring up an important point, chandeliers did go out of "style" a while ago. It was sad to see a classic forgotten or pushed to the sidelines. Amazing how "style" changes so rapidly. I cannot see the chandelier being out of favor again - I think that trend was truly just a fad.

The chandelier is simply too classic and too elegant to ever really go out style.

Gma Goldie, Now I know the difference between a chandelier and a sconce. The chandeliers you featured in pictures here does remind me of my "chandelier crystal cleaning" days. It is nice to know that chandeliers have not gone out of style. :o)
