Compare Bread Machines 2014

Updated on December 5, 2013

There is nothing quite as good as the smell and taste of freshly baked bread. However with our busy lives, who has the time to bake homemade bread? The truth is that with a bread machine anyone has the time to bake their own bread.

All you need to do is measure ingredients, put them into the machine, and push a couple of buttons.

Homemade bread doesn't just contain no preservatives, unlike store bought bread. If you have allergies or are gluten intolerant you can bake bread especially for your needs.

In compare bread machines I recommend a bread machine baking book, I also recommend some premade bread mixes and then I review a few of the best new bread makers on the market.

Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker

The Sunbeam has more functions available compared to the other machines we look at. The thirteen hour delay bake is a good feature as the "set it and forget it" feature enables the busy parent or career person to plan in advance. Its ability to bake 1½ or 2 pound loaves is an added bonus as fresh baked bread does not last as long, as it's mass produced counterparts. The 12 cooking functions would satisfy most needs but maybe not those of the more serious baker.

The touch control panel is easy to use and the display screen simple enough to understand. However, the user manual could have provided slightly more information, as a complete novice would struggle with what is provided.

The Sunbeam offers good value for money, easy to use, extremely durable and easy to clean. For people who hava a little knowledge of bread making, it would fit all of their requirements.

Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme 2-Pound-Loaf Breadmaker

The Zojirushi is a bread maker with a difference. It's stainless steel outer casing gives it a look of class and it would not look out of place in the most state-of–the-art kitchen.

For the ultimate professional the Zojirushi has ten pre-programmed settings with a thirteen hour delay timer. The large viewing window is perfectly adequate for any user and the bread pan is easily cleaned after removal.

This bread maker boasts a dual blade action ensuring that the kneading process can produce a perfect two pound loaf.

The user friendly LCD control panel is easy to read and it has three settings allowing the user to choose a light, medium or dark crust. If the loaf is not taken out of the maker when it is cooked, then there is a facility that keeps the loaf warm for a further thirty minutes.

After a thorough inspection, the Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme Breadmaker appears to be a very impressive piece of machinery. The programmes and functions are well described and its overall function appears to be perfect. The above average price tag is more than justified.

Cuisinart CBK-200 2-Pound Convection Automatic Bread Maker

The Cuisinart-CBK-200 convection bread machine is a top of the range machine. It has a convection fan which enables automatic adjusting of speed and timing levels, to produce delicious home made bread to a professional standard.

The main features are a 12-hour delay-start timer, an option of paddle removal prior to baking and a pause facility. Another important factor is power-failure backup, in case of emergencies.

The preset menu of 16 settings is easily programmed and it boasts over 100 bread, dough, cake and even jam settings. It features 3 crust levels and 3 loaf sizes. Another added option which caters for dieters, is a low carbohydrate cycle, so it would be a great gift for someone who is conscious of their figure. A decent recipe book is included and it also carries a three-year limited warranty.

The Cuisinart CBK-200 has an overall appearance of being substantial and durable, which is not always seen in other models of bread makers. An attractive looking machine made of stainless steel, which gives a very modern, sleek look.

Breadman BK1060S 2-Pound Professional Bread Maker with Collapsible Kneading Paddles

The Breadman, one of the top American brands, is ideal for someone who is just starting out making their own bread as it has very easy to follow instructions.

One of the exclusive features is it's automatic collapsible paddle, which collapses once the kneading cycle has finished, prior to the start of the baking cycle. This is a great plus as the end result is a complete loaf without any indentations, giving a very professional finish.

Another unique feature is the automatic dispenser which enables any extras, like fruit and nuts, to be added at exactly the right time, in the bread-making cycle: this is a brilliant time saver. Usually this has to be done manually on most bread machines, which means that you are restricted in what you can do.

The Breadman BK 1060S is of a pleasing appearance and design, produced in brushed aluminium. It is easy to clean as the lid is completely detachable.

I hope you found a good breadmaker in compare bread machines. You might also benefit from reading best 4 cup coffee maker and kitchen scale reviews.
